Housing
Raise awareness of NorDan UK’s innovative and high-performance timber windows and doors, particularly in fast-growing markets.
Frontier PR made NorDan UK a leading voice in sustainable housing and construction—championing low-carbon solutions and higher building standards—while effectively communicating the benefits to all target audiences, including the social housing sector.
NorDan has a long-standing reputation for producing ultra-low-carbon, durable timber windows and doors and its recent rapid growth in the UK market shows it’s offering the right solutions at exactly the right time.
Traditionally the choice of high-specification buildings, NorDan UK is increasingly winning business from a wider range of new-build housing and refurbishment customers, as more specifiers think long-term and seek solutions that exceed UK building standards.
NorDan’s products deliver long-term social, financial and environmental benefits but needed to tell a clear story to a bigger UK audience to accelerate growth.
Starting off in 2022, Frontier PR positioned NorDan UK as a solution to key industry challenges.
Powerfully articulated through its “Window of Opportunity” campaign, NorDan highlighted the pivotal role that construction and the built environment will play in tackling climate change.
Frontier PR put NorDan UK at the heart of key industry debates, either as an expert thought leader, or by facilitating constructive conversations and knowledge sharing.
This included developing industry roundtables, focusing on topics such as the Future Home Standard in England, or Scotland’s readiness to deliver hundreds of thousands of affordable and sustainable new homes.
Staff and guest customer blogs gave a platform to influential voices on key issues, while Frontier PR amplified those opinions further by securing thought leadership via news and features across the wider media.
Frontier PR also spoke to numerous NorDan UK clients to fully understand why they were choosing its products, capturing high-value customer advocacy and developing vital case studies.
All the above combined to deliver engaging social media content, resulting in a rolling multi-channel campaign that linked PR activity to maximise the value of content.
To date, Frontier PR has secured around 150 pieces of media coverage in key housing, construction and business media, combining news and expert opinion with the voices of customers, contractors, architects, developers and, crucially, big social landlords.
Frontier PR drove the development of NorDan UK’s 2023 CIBSE award-winning Embodied Carbon entry, and, in January 2024, successfully delivered an industry leadership roundtable on the Government’s Future Homes Standards, putting NorDan at the forefront of that issue.
This was followed up with a similar event north of the border, working in partnership with Project Scotland on the importance of the Passivhaus standard in Scotland.
Industry roundtable films and videos fuelled a highly engaging social media campaign, positioning NorDan as a progressive voice in the sector, effectively reaching thousands of influential professionals across the UK.
“Frontier’s background in housing and sustainability meant they understood our place in the market and what was driving growth for NorDan” says David Gillon, Senior Marketing Manager, NorDan UK.
“More importantly, this deep knowledge of us, the sector, the issues and the media meant they were able to create a campaign that not only raised awareness of NorDan, but also resonated with new and existing customers.”
David adds: “The thing that impressed me the most was the level of knowledge Frontier PR displayed when engaging with NorDan UK’s people and customers. They were able to talk as equals, building trust and quickly gained a reputation for delivering fantastic advocacy from the market - content that brought our story to life.
“If you need PR support that understands the built environment and the future of the Smart Cities and Smart Communities, I urge you to talk to Frontier PR.”
PR activity included case study-driven media coverage featuring social housing leaders, including A2Dominion, Clarion Housing, ForViva, and many others.
