About 40% of the one and two-bed apartments have already been reserved, just over a month after The Boltons developments was finished.
It’s one of four new developments being developed by Hanover in the South of England in response to growing demand among from affluent and active over 55s for high-quality properties that better suit their needs.
The New Forest apartments cost between £165,000 and about £345,000.
Each apartment features a large open-plan living space, generously-sized rooms and includes top-of-the-range appliances for high performance and to reduce living costs.
Claire Anderson, from Hanover said: “Our Downsizer Homes are designed to provide greater choice to people over the age of 55. We’ve deliberately created a product that is high quality but low maintenance to help ensure buyers have more time to enjoy life."
Ben Shiers, Director at Fells Gulliver, the Lymington and Lyndhurst-based estate agent which is selling the new apartments, said: “Our buyers are experienced. They know what they want and have been impressed with the space on offer as well as the high spec kitchens and bathrooms. Buyers are downsizing for a variety of reasons – to free up equity, to reduce the hassle and maintenance of a larger home or simply to live closer to friends and family.
“The Boltons development offers them the opportunity to afford a luxury property in one of the country’s most beautiful areas and the reaction to the properties so far has been great.”
The age of the buyers ranges from 55 to late eighties. Most are downsizing from three and four-bed houses.
Hanover’s not-for-profit status means all proceeds from sales of Downsizer Homes are reinvested to support housing supply for the over 55s nationally.
