Seddon appoints Hughes to head up Housing Partnerships

Builder and developer Seddon has appointed its latest high profile director as the firm targets growth across the North of England, Midlands and Wales.

Seddon, which has offices in Bolton, Birmingham, Stoke and North Wales, has appointed Paul Hughes as Development Director for the firm’s Housing Partnerships division.

Paul has worked in the housing sector for 30 years, with 25 years seeing him work on public-funded schemes.

Alongside Development Managers Ian Ridgway and Chris Curtis, who was appointed in September 2015, Paul will head-up the company’s land-led schemes across the North West, Midlands and North Wales for new and existing social housing clients.

Paul said: “I am delighted to have joined a company of Seddon’s calibre. The firm is well known for its financial stability, commitment to its people and its proud heritage of delivering quality work.

“It is an exciting time to be a part of Seddon as we focus on taking the business to the next level. I look forward to building the portfolio of land-led developments and joint ventures with affordable housing providers across the North West, Midlands and Wales.”

The £190 million turnover firm’s latest appointment builds on a number of high profile new starters to join Seddon.

Seddon has bolstered its board and senior management team to combine the family run firm’s values with even greater commercial acumen as it targets sustainable growth.

Jonathan Seddon, Managing Director at Seddon, said: “We are proud of being able to attract high quality talent into the team, as Paul’s appointment demonstrates.

“Our values are an incredibly important part of who we are. It is this that make us attractive to our clients, partners and to people working in the industry. The fantastic range of talent we have brought into the fold means we are well placed to deliver exceptional growth in the regions we operate in.”

Hughes joins the firm from Emmanuel Whittaker, with previous experience also including 20 years at Bramall Construction where he supported the growth of the North West business from £8 million to £120 million during his tenure as Area Director.
