Open weekend at Hanover’s New Forest luxury homes

National housing provider Hanover is holding an open weekend for over-55s and their families from May 28 to 30 at its exclusive New Forest downsizer properties in Lyndhurst.

Since The Boltons development was finished earlier in the year, the 26 elegant apartments have been selling fast, with 40 per cent of the one- and two-bed luxury homes now sold.

One of the new residents at The Boltons, Betty Stevens, downsized from her large family home in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire after losing her husband two years ago. She moved 100 miles to her new two-bed home in March to be close to her family.

The contemporary Hanover homes at The Boltons caught Betty’s eye when they were being built last summer and she was visiting her daughter and grandchildren, who live just a mile away.
Betty, 81, said: “Moving to The Boltons was definitely the right decision - the New Forest is a beautiful area to live in. Hanover have also been extremely helpful assisting with my move. I am completely independent here, whereas my larger home was becoming too much to manage - there’s a lot less housework to do!”

Betty added that she is now very close to the High Street in Lyndhurst, meaning she’s close to amenities such as the doctors, pharmacy, post office and shops, which really suits her.

“I’m surprised with the space in my new home, as all of my larger furniture fits in,” Betty added. “My flat is beautifully laid out. And now I have no issues with gardening or window cleaning as this is all done for me.”

Claire Anderson, Hanover Services Director, said: “We developed The Boltons site in response to growing demands from over-55s who want a high-quality property that better suits their needs. It’s great to hear from residents that is exactly what Hanover has delivered. Our open day will allow potential residents and their families to experience this and tour the completed development and show apartment, as well as meet our selected agent, Fells Gulliver.”

Costs for apartments on the scheme sees one-beds starting from £165,000 and two-beds starting from £235,000. Each apartment features a large open-plan living space, generously-sized rooms and includes top-of-the-range appliances for high performance and to reduce living costs.

Hanover’s not-for-profit status means all proceeds from sales of their Downsizer Homes are reinvested to support housing supply for the over-55s nationally.
