The London-based company’s ground-breaking smart metering system for district heat networks scooped the accolade at the annual awards ceremony, which celebrates the very best of the UK housing sector.
Judges were impressed by the technology’s ability to help landlords identify residents at risk of falling into fuel poverty.
The Guru System provides real-time data on tenants’ energy use, enabling housing associations to quickly intervene to safeguard residents’ well being.
Guru Systems’ technology has been installed in more than 4,000 homes on 35 district heat networks nationwide.
District heat is becoming increasingly popular across the UK as policy makers champion its use in new developments.
Casey Cole, Managing Director of Guru Systems, said: “We have come a long way since we set up Guru Systems three years ago and this award is testament to the hard work put in by our teams every day.
“We are constantly refining and improving our product and hope this is just one of many awards to come.”
The company is no stranger to awards, having recently won a competition run by the Department of Energy and Climate Change. As part of the Government-funded project, Guru Systems will develop an algorithm to analyse Big Data collected by its smart meters on existing district heat networks.
