The event saw over 40 undergraduate students tackle set business challenges, considering aspects such as sales, marketing and finance.
Before presenting their businesses to a select panel, the students had the opportunity to pick the brains of industry experts, including David, allowing them to reality test and refine their ideas.
“I thought the whole exercise was really valuable for everyone involved,” commented David.
“Although the students where very focused on winning the challenge, I could sense throughout the day that it was the learning process that was important – particularly the opportunity to interact with businesses and better understand the commercial world.”
David continues: “I commend the University of Manchester’s career service for organising the event and all the students for taking the time to get involved – I think it speaks volumes for their commitment to personal development beyond their academic studies, and I very much hope I can be involved again in 2015.”
The Team Work Challenge was organised by the University of Manchester’s Career Services.
