I’m passionate about the value of PR, with a particular focus on the housing sector. My specialisms include: strategic planning, media relations, crisis communications, stakeholder engagement and branding.

Head of Housing

I’m a former journalist who trained in London, editing a community website in Paddington before working at The Independent. I enjoyed a spell as Chief Reporter for a regional newspaper group, turning to the murky world of PR in 2005, when I headed up a PR and Marketing team for an award-winning agency.

One of our clients was Chester & District Housing Trust and it’s been housing ever since, managing communications through two mergers into Cosmopolitan Housing Group, then into Sanctuary Group, the largest landlord in the sector. I’m excited about returning to PR and the specialist team of experts at Frontier.

Outside of work, I’m married with two energetic young kids. I’m a keen Liverpool FC fan; must remember to whisper that in Manchester! I enjoy travel, having taken a year off to traverse the globe after university.

Particular highlights were working on safari in Zimbabwe, watching the England Cricket Team play five Tests in South Africa, picking strawberries for three weeks in Western Australia, living on an almost deserted island in the South Pacific where I learnt to Scuba Dive, then driving across America.

I’ve written more than 25 travel features for regional glossy magazines – a perk of the job! Working for a travel client, I once drove in a convoy of Ferraris from Siena to Rome with the news editor of The Independent on Sunday securing four pages of positive coverage, but that’s another story.
